400g beef mince
1 egg
1 large onion, finely chopped or processed in a food processor
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
1 Tbsp Worcester sauce
salt, pepper
Mix all the ingredients really well.
Roll with your wet hands the mince mixture into about 20-24 meatballs.
Add 3–4 tablespoons of olive oil to a hot pan. Brown the meatballs all over, but be careful not to break them up.
Transfer the meatballs into a roasting dish and cook in the oven for about 10-15 minutes.
For the sauce:
1 Tbsp flour
1 Tbsp butter
1 cup beef stock
1/2 cup cream
1 tbsp soy sauce
pepper to taste
In a skillet, melt butter. When butter is melted, sprinkle flour into skillet. Stir to make a smooth roux.
Add beef stock, stirring to keep the sauce smooth. Add cream. Add soy sauce. Season to taste.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer and allow to simmer until desired consistency. Serve alongside meatballs.
