Japanese braised chicken home style


4-6 pieces of chicken
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1 Tbsp sugar
1 garlic clove, crushed
pinch of chili flakes

Place all the ingredients in a saucepan, bring to the boil and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, carefully turning chicken pieces in a glaze. 

Goes well with Tilda rice.
